word count: 3540
warnings: teasing flirting, swearing
Nicole went into another room to gather what she needed to set up the shoot, leaving him in the living room. He took a drink before taking in his surroundings. Several snake plants, books of all types, and different photos of what he imagined to be her friends and family peppered the living room. As he heard her coming down the hall, he shifted his gaze to her, “Do you need any help setting anything up? I can carry things or-”
“No, I couldn’t ask you to do that, you’re the guest!” Nicole smiled at him, walking past with three bags.
Chris took one more drink of water before getting up to meet her at the kitchen island, “Don’t be ridiculous. It’ll go faster with the two of us.”
She looked over at him with a smile, “Okay, uhm, thank you.”
“Of course.” He said with a smile, taking one of the lightbox stands from her.
Chris knelt down on the ground and unzipped the bag, “So, I’m Chris.”
Nicole laughed and looked up at him with a raised eyebrow, “And I’m Nicole?”
He nervously laughed and pulled the equipment out of the bag, “I’m sorry, I just wanted to get to know you a little better before we started.”
“Right, sorry. I’m Nicole and uhm, I’m twenty-three which has been one hell of a time because no one likes you when you’re twenty-three. At least I turn twenty-four in November, I guess. Uhm, my favorite color is pink but if anyone asks I tell them emerald green. I like Taylor Swift music and horror movies. And… Yeah, that’s the gist.”
He had finished setting up his light stand while she spoke. He leaned against the counter with a smile, “Well it’s nice to meet you Nicole. I’m Chris and I’m thirty-eight, which pains me to say. My favorite color is blue, honestly any shade of blue. I’m a big Led Zeppelin guy or even Billy Joel. I’m a big Disney movie guy, Pixar too.”
“Disney guy? Didn’t think you would be the Disney type.”
“There’s a type?”
“Well you’re just super fucking hot and I don’t know...I shouldn’t have said that.”
He shook his head with a smile, “No, it’s fine. You’re attractive too, just… Are you not a Disney person?”
“Oh, I am.” Nicole pointed at him before starting to set up her camera and tripod, “Tangled, Jungle Book, and Emperor’s New Groove. Might be more of a Pixar person though than a Disney fan if I’m honest, but I do go to Disney World every chance I get.”
“Oh yeah? Favorite ride?"
“I’m a sucker for the tiki room because my first childhood memories are there. But as for an actual ride, I’ll say Tower of Terror. I love it so so much! I also just love getting lost in Toy Story Land or Epcot for a hot minute. What about you?”
“I have to say Space Mountain, such a classic.”
“You know what, I can’t argue that.” Nicole laughed, “You ready to bake some cupcakes?”
“Hell yeah, let's do this!” He clapped his hands together before moving to stand in front of the camera.
Nicole hit record on the camera and made sure everything was synched to her laptop before walking around the counter to stand on his left side, “Alrighty!” She said before clapping her hands together to make sure the audio was synched up, “Hello everyone! Welcome to my kitchen! I normally only show this room during cooking streams so this is very weird but this is a special occasion. I am accompanied by the one and only Chris Evans.” Nicole said before making a grand gesture, causing him to laugh and wave at the camera.
“Hello everybody, I am glad I could join you in the kitchen to make some cupcakes. I’m not the best at baking so I hope the most you ask me to do is hold containers or stir something.”
“You’re gonna do great.” She said with a smile while patting his shoulder, “You ready?”
“As ready as I’ll ever be.” He said with a shrug.
“Alright! First things first, we’re going to wash our hands and then we will start.”
The two went over to her sink and started washing their hands. He playfully hip bumped her and she teasingly did it back with the two of them swaying into each other while they washed their hands.
Once they finished, they both began drying their hands off with paper towels before Nicole pointed at him, “How about you tell the lovely people about your brand new movie while I get this set up?”
Chris clapped his hands together, “Alright, so Knives Out is a murder myster movie. It revolves around a murder mystery book writer named Harlan Thrombey and his family. Harlan dies under some mysterious circumstances and it turns into a big circus of whodunnit. There’s a lot of family drama and an all-star cast like Daniel Craig, Ana De Arma, Jamie Lee Curtis, and many more. It’ll be in theaters November 27th!”
“Right after my birthday too! I can’t wait to see it!” Nicole said putting the last of the ingredients on the counter.
“Happy early birthday, I guess cupcakes are pretty on par then.”
“Thank you and they sure are. Would you mind putting in a cup of flour and three-quarters of a cup of cocoa powder.”
He nodded pulling the flour over to him, “I sure can, do you do the wooden spoon trick when you do it?”
Nicole was measuring out the baking soda when she scrunched up her face, “The what?”
“You know, the wooden spoon trick. You run the handle across it so it’s level.”
“Oh! I use the blunt side of a butter knife, do you want a wooden spoon instead? I have one.”
Chris shook his head slightly embarrassed before reaching for one of the butter knives on the counter, “Nah, it’s on brand this way. Knives Out...So, you want me just to drag the straight edge across the top?”
“You got it! You normally do a lot of baking?”
“Oh no, absolutely not. I should’ve spent more time I guess learning or asking questions about cooking and baking in my youth because now I’m in my thirties just learning the basics and getting staple meals down. I actually make a pretty great homemade pasta that I can turn into either an alfredo or a meaty marinara dish.”
“Making your own pasta? That’s really impressive!”
“You think so?” He looked over at her as he poured flour into the bowl, his chest puffed out a little in pride.
“I do! I tried to make pasta once and it turned out awful, so props to you. It did take me like four years to perfect making pie crust so I wouldn’t feel too bad about struggling to learn baking or cooking.”
Chris nodded in acknowledgement before grabbing the cocoa powder, “What’s your favorite kind of pie?”
“To make or to eat?” She asked finishing measuring out her set of dry ingredients.
“Both?” He asked with a shrug.
“To make, apple pie just because I snack the entire time .To eat, I would have to say lemon meringue or french silk. How about you?”
“Well, you can’t go wrong with an apple pie… What’s next?”
“Now you’re just going to sift all of this into this fancy silver kitchen aid bowl.” She said while holding the sifter out to him.
“You want me to sift it?”
“Yeah, you just wiggle the little thingy back and forth. I’ll work on the wet ingredients.”
She gave him a small thumbs up before starting to combine the wet ingredients into a glass bowl.
Chris started out cautiously before getting a little more confident and nodding before he spoke, “Oh, I got this. It’s all in the wrist.”
“Is one of your special skills flicking your wrists?”
“Not really but I talk with my hands enough that I have it all figured out.”
Nicole nodded with a smirk, “I really thought you were going to say something really dirty.”
“Glad to know where your mind is.” He said, eyeing her up and down causing her to shake her head and turn around embarrassed that she had even brought it up.
Once everything was in the bowl and combined, Nicole clapped her hands together, “Great, I’m gonna go get the cupcake pans. Do you know how to disconnect a kitchen aid bowl?”
He scoffed, “I know I said I was an amateur at baking but c’mon now.”
Nicole raised her hands up defensively with a laugh before starting to walk backwards, “Alright, I’m sorry! Go right ahead, I’ll be right back.”
As she was getting the pans out of the pantry, Chris lifted up his finger to his lips to signal them to be quiet. Looking over his shoulder he checked to make sure she was still busy before he dipped his finger in the batter. As he was doing it again she yelled at him with a little laugh, “What are you doing?!”
“I’m taste testing it! It’s an important part of baking.”
“I promise you it isn't. That’s cooking.” She said with a laugh before setting the pans on the counter next to him.
“Ooh, do I get to spray the pans?”
“You could, but I was thinking-” Nicole leaned over the counter to grab the black cupcake liners, “That we could use these.”
He nodded, “That’s probably for the best. How do you want to go about getting the batter in there?”
Nicole grabbed the batter dispenser off the counter, “I have this handy dandy dispenser! If you wouldn’t mind scooping all the batter into there, or you could wait and I could help.”
He shrugged and grabbed the bowl, “I think I can at least get the bulk of it in there.”
Once she got a liner in each section of the muffin tin, she grabbed the rubber spatula, “You ready?”
He nodded, holding the bowl over the batter dispenser, “I still think we should’ve kept what’s left over and eat the batter.”
“If I let you lick the mixer adapter will that suffice?”
Chris gasped before turning to look at the camera, “My evil plan is coming together.”
Nicole couldn’t help but laugh as she finished scraping out the rest of the batter, “Your evil plan to maybe get salmonella?”
He looked over at her in shock as she walked over to the sink before turning back to the camera, “I think we’re about to have another murder mystery on our hands.”
Nicole let out a loud laugh while rinsing off the spatula while Chris put down the bowl with a chuckle, “I couldn’t resist, I’m sorry.” Nicole walked back over, “Would you like to do the honors of filling up the cupcake liners?”
“I would love that. How full would you- Uhm, nope. How much?”
Nicole tried to hide her reddening face, “A little more than half. I would say three-quarters but whenever I do that they puff up too big and overflow the pan.”
“Little more than half, I can do that.”
Nicole patted him on the back, “Okay, I believe in you.” He looked over at her with a smile before starting to fill each liner. Nicole went to her pantry to get another kitchen aid bowl and the decorating supplies.
She returned next to him and placed the bowl on the counter before removingthe several bags of white chocolate melts out of it along with two silicone mini knife mold trays, “How’s it going?”
“Great, or at least I think they look great. What do you think?”
Nicole looked over at the two pans before looking back at him, “Looks great to me, you want to put them in the oven for me?”
“Sure thing.” He grabbed both pans and placed them on the stove top before placing them into the oven one at a time. After closing the lid, he turned back to her, “So what do we do now?”
“Okay, so while those are baking we are going to make the frosting. I’m gonna go grab the sugar.”
Chris nodded before drumming his fingers on the counter rhythmically a few times, then singing out, “Pour some sugar on me!”
Nicole walked back into the kitchen carrying a container of powdered sugar, “In the name of love?” She asked, slightly confused but still smiling as she took the lid off.
Chris smiled with a nod before continuing to drum on the counter, “Pour some sugar on me!”
“Cmon fire me up.” Nicole sung back with a smile, flicking a small amount of powdered sugar towards him to put more emphasis on the up.
He playfully gasped taking a few steps back, “Did you really just do that?”
Nicole couldn’t help but laugh, “I’m so sorry, the opportunity was there.”
Chris placed his hands on his hips and shook his head as she put the container down. Nicole started to lightly dust him off as he continued to shake his head at her, “I know this is a comedic bit but you look so fucking intimidating right now.”
He started laughing and backed away from her dusting himself off, “I’m sorry I couldn’t resist… What was it you said? The opportunity was there.” He said with a wink, causing her to turn away with a smile, “Anyways! The frosting! You will be working on the frosting recipe while I make the cute little chocolate knives.”
“It’s all in order? Everything’s here? You didn’t set me up for failure?” Chris asked while looking over the sheet of paper.
“Oh, I wasn’t aware you needed to brush up on your interrogation skills. Are you playing a cop in this new film?”
“Ha. Ha.” Chris said before lightly swatting her with the paper, “I’ll start on the dang frosting. You’re up there with Jamie Lee Curtis on the sass level.”
“I think that is the best compliment I’ve ever gotten.” Nicole said with a big smile before starting to sort the different colored candy melts into their designated bottles.
They each took their time on their designated tasks and Nicole took both trays over to the fridge so they would set up faster.
“Wow, that might be the most amazing frosting I’ve ever had.”
“Oh yeah?” Nicole asked, turning back around to face him.
He nodded with a smirk, dipping his finger back in the bowl to get a pile of frosting on the tip, “Do you want to try it?”
“You want me just to…?”
He nodded in response, holding his finger covered in frosting out to her. She walked up to him and opened her mouth slightly. As he gently pushed his finger into her mouth, her lips closed around it sucking the frosting off his finger. She knew what he was doing… Wait, did she? No, this wasn’t happening.
“Good isn’t it?” He said looking down at her with a smirk.
She nodded for a few seconds, lost in the gaze he was casting on her before shaking her head with a laugh, “Yeah, it’s pretty great. Uhm, you want to scoop it into these piping bags for me?”
His smile grew seeing her blush before she quickly turned away. “I can do that, yeah.” He reached for the other rubber spatula.
Once the cupcakes were out of the oven, Nicole took the opportunity to ask him questions from the sheet of paper his manager had emailed her a week ago. He had answered four of the questions when his last answer revolved around how Ransom was a spoiled brat and didn’t take losing, the word no, or being disciplined well.
“Do you have a little bit of that competitive streak in you?” Nicole asked with a raised eyebrow causing him to smirk.
“Maybe, why?”
“I’m thinking that you and I could get into a little friendly competition of who can decorate their candy knives faster.”
“So before you didn’t know if I could detach a bowl from a mixer but now you want me to make cupcake decorations. I’m getting some mixed signals here.”
Nicole couldn’t help but laugh, “Okay, kitchen appliances are complicated for one! But for two, we are just drizzling blood onto the edge of the knife. No real decorating skills involved just make sure the knife looks… I don’t know, stabby?”
“I don’t think stabby is the word you really wanted to use but-”
“It’s not but drippy didn’t sound any better.”
He scrunched up his face in disgust before letting out a chuckle, “Yeah, that isn’t a great adjective either. Just-what are we doing?”
“I have these little mini bottles that I’m going to fill with red melting chocolate and we are going to do little drips like… Uhm.. I’ll demonstrate. Hold on.” Nicole held up her finger to signal just a second while she filled up four mini bottles with the red melting chocolate before coming back and setting them all on the counter, “We shouldn’t need all four but just in case I don’t wanna risk the competition on it. So, I’m going to show you the pattern on this thing of parchment, okay?” Chris nodded, leaning over her shoulder watching her show him how to use the bottle to make the blood drip designs. “Make sense?” She asked, looking up over her shoulder at him.
“I think I got it, twelve each?”
“Yup!” She said while placing a piece of parchment paper in front of him before sectioning off one for herself.
Chris counted out twelve for her before spreading the rest out on his parchment paper. “I’ll count us down?” He asked before grabbing one of the bottles.
“Heck yeah, you’re going down.” Nicole said with a smirk.
“Okay, ready? Three, two, one!”
They both started decorating the knives with their own pieces of paper as fast as they could before Chris threw his hands up and shouted, “Done!”
“What?!” Nicole gasped surprised before finishing hers and looking over at him, “You’re joking!”
“I’m not! Look!” He said pointing down at his paper.
Nicole looked at his paper with her hands on her hips, “You really got all twelve.”
“Yup! I won.” Chris said proudly, causing Nicole to scoff, “Mine definitely look better!”
“Ah-ah-ah! You didn’t say they had to look good! You just said whoever finishes first!”
“Fuck!” Nicole swore with a laugh as Chris started to do a little victory dance around her kitchen that was several seconds of cabbage patching combined with a few seconds of shoulder shimmying.
Nicole rolled her eyes with a smile, “Okay, okay, calm down lets get these cupcakes decorated so we can eat them.”
It took them about five minutes for Nicole to frost the cupcakes and for Chris to place the knife on top. Chris would slide a normal cupcake over to her so she could frost it before exchanging them. Once all twenty-four were frosted, Nicole made sure to show one off to the camera just to get a close up shot of how they looked before they tore into them. Setting it back down into the big group of cupcakes she shrugged, “So, this is it! Our death by chocolate cupcakes!” Nicole said with a smile as Chris grabbed two, “Shall we try them?”
She nodded while gently taking it out of his hand, “I think we should, are you going to eat the little knife on top or are you just going to go for it?”
“Oh I’m just going for it.” He said with a smile while already peeling off the wrapper.
Nicole quickly started removing the wrapper on her cupcake, “You want to cheers?”
“Sure, to Knives Out on November twenty-seventh?”
“To Knives Out on November twenty-seventh!” Nicole said with a smile as they lightly tapped cupcakes together before taking a big bite.
Chris started nodding before setting the cupcake on the counter and turning around. Nicole sat hers down, covering her mouth full of food as she started to laugh, “It’s that good?”
He offered his hand up for a high five and she gladly high fived him with her free hand.
“That is so good!” Chris yelled out after finally swallowing his bite.
After finishing her bite, she ran her tongue across her teeth to make sure she didn’t have anything stuck before she spoke, “You like it?”
“Oh I love it.”
“Well, if these cupcakes are even half as good as the movie I would say the people are in for one big treat.”
Chris nodded before turning back to the camera, “Yes! Go see the movie, it’s a great murder mystery. And make these cupcakes, they’re both worth it!”
She couldn’t help but smile at him, “Thank you for joining me today.”
“Of course! Thank you for having me! Everyone please not only support the movie but support this lovely lady. I had a great time and I can’t wait until you guys can see the film. ”
“Couldn’t have ended the video better myself, thank you.” Nicole said with a smile before she looked into the camera as they did a synchronous wave, “I’ll see you all later, bye!”

One thing I will never understand is why parents turn everything into a life lesson. So when I tell you that the ONLY reason I have a job at an ice cream shop is because of my parents, It’s the truth.
If I'm being completely honest, it's not that I hate working at an ice cream shop, I hate the other people who work at the ice cream shop with me.
My boss, he's a 60-year-old man who looks like he would be a pedo.
The only other people who I work with are two other girls the same age as me, they're friends and they don't like me very much, but it doesn't matter cause neither of them are here anyway.
Looking towards the wall, I watch the clock strike 10:56. We close at 10:30 and I've been cleaning up and wiping the counters down. I'm not even close to being done. It usually doesn't take too long to clean up when there is more than one person, but since I'm the only one working tonight, it's taking longer.
By the time I finish cleaning it's 11:14. I walk to the back where we have hooks to hang our stuff on, I hear the doorbell ring, signaling someone has entered the shop. I grab my coat and purse off the hook and walk to the front. “Sorry, we're closed...” I trail off when I see there is no one in the store.
Shrugging it off, I grab the keys to the shop and walk out locking the door behind me. While walking to my car, I'm looking in my purse for my phone but I can't find it. Realizing that I remember setting it down on the counter, I walk back to the door and unlock it.
I look for my phone in the last place I remember setting it, the counter by the lightbox, but I can't find it. I look in every place I can think of, the backroom, storage closet, the toaster, literally ANYWHERE, but it's nowhere to be found.
After a while of looking for my phone, I got an idea, I'll use the store phone to call mine! I put my number into my phone and hear it ringing, I walk towards the sound and am led to my boss's office. There is one problem with this. My boss hasn't been to work today, and he keeps his office locked. Always.
Feeling tears brim my eyes I run back to the store phone and dial the first number I can think of. 911. Though I stop myself before I can press call. Realizing they probably won't believe me when I tell then i think I’m being haunted, I call my brother instead. My parents are out of town and my older brother is watching me for the weekend. He's only 2 years older than me but my parents trust him I guess.
Straight to voicemail. Before giving up all hope, I call the only other guy I know, my brother's friend. Just when I think the call will go to voicemail, I hear a voice.
“Hello?” his voice sounds groggy.
“Hey, I need your help!” I half yell, feeling the tears slip down my cheeks.
“What's up?” I can tell I woke him up by the way he sounds so tired.
“You know where I work?” he hums. “I need you to come help me” I finish.
“Uh, are you okay?” He asks, sounding worried.
“No, No I'm not. I'm really scared.” I cry. “Please, come here.”
“Okay, okay, I'm on my way,” he says, and I can hear him shuffling around. “I'll stay on the phone, yeah?” he asks.
_________________________________________
10 minutes later he was with me and I had explained everything to him. He helped me find a key to the office to get my phone, sure enough, it was there, on the table.
Currently, he was driving me home in his car.
“I'll bring you back tomorrow to get your car, yeah?” he asks.
“That would be great, thank you, really.” I smile lightly. A second later he looks over at me and laughs, looking back to the road. “What?” I laugh.
“Nothing, nothing,” he says “you're never taking another night shift again are you?” he chuckles.
“Never again” I confirm.

DIY LIGHTBOX
Welcome to My Blog Today i will show you an efficient and less expensive methods to apply different hues to photos. While looking at the examples of the bokeh filter shown to us in class came up with a brilliant idea to add different hues and colors to your photos. As an artist myself presenting a digital photo of an artwork is as important as the artwork itself, and finding a way to add the right color and lighting can be tedious. Using the example shown to us in class I came up with a simple lightbox.
Materials Needed ( Prices)
Cardboard box (Free.99)
Aluminum Foil ($2)
LED Light ($11.99)
Paint ($4)

The process to set up is rather simple, you wrap the inside with Aluminium foil and connect the Led light through the bottom of the cardboard box as shown below.

The result of the light box was rather interesting.
Before

AFTER

Conclusion
The lightbox was rather very effective in adding light and dramatically changing the photo in color, however, it does not produce a strong enough light to counter or blend in with other light sources. While working on the lightbox, paint was also shown to be of no relevance as it doesn't do anything to affect the overall hue of the photo. Another problem I faced is that because the lightbox is not a dominate source of light, to be able to achieve certain colours the box might have to be close to the object causing a glare in photos. Although I encountered a few problem during this process it proven effective and a lot cheaper that photoshop.

A Broad Analysis of the "Worldwide Light Therapy Market “methodology of the leading organizations in the exactness of import/export utilization, market activity figures, cost, value, revenue and gross edges.
Light Therapy Market Overview
The global light therapy market growth has an opportunity to scale a growth valuation of USD 1,112.16 Million by 2025 with a moderate CAGR of 5.1% in the forecast period that covers 2019 to 2025. Market Research Future (MRFR) considers the rising number of dermatological disorders as the major reason behind the market growth of the light therapy market. Among other major reasons, growing demand for non-invasive methods, treatment for psychological disorders, and better funding for research and development projects are deemed to play crucial roles in taking the market forward.

However, side-effects like eye pain, nausea, headache, itching, burning sensation, and agitation can deter the market from having a smooth run. Its lack of awareness in several countries can also hold back the growth.
Light Therapy Market Segmentation
The global market for light therapy has been segmented in the report on the basis of product, application, light type, and end user.
By product, the market for light therapy can be segmented into lightbox, floor & desk lamp, light visor, dawn simulator, handheld devices for skin treatment (HDST), light therapy bulbs, and others. The ‘others’ segment would include Bluewave technology and light on a timer. The HDST segment has the largest market share as patients prefer this for its ability to cope up with the home care setting. The light visor setting is the fastest-growing segment and its portability is playing in favor of the market.
By application, the global report on the light therapy market can be segmented into psoriasis, vitiligo, eczema, acne vulgaris, sleeping disorders, seasonal affective disorder (SAD), and others that include bone injuries and joint pain. The sleeping disorder segment has the widest market coverage and psoriasis has the opportunity to register the fastest growth rate for the foreseeable future.
By light type, the market report focusing on the study of light therapy segments the market into blue light, white light, red light, and others. The blue light segment covers the widest portion of the market as its takers are growing to treat sun damage and skin cancer. The red light has the fastest growth rate and its application to treat joint pain and arthritis is growing. The ‘others’ include purple light and yellow light.
By end user, the report segments the market into homecare settings, dermatology clinics, and others. The home care setting covers the maximum ground as it is cost affordable. The ‘others’ segment includes workplace and salons.
Light Therapy Market Regional Analysis:
The Americas is showing great progress owing to the huge demand it is getting from the rising demand for non-invasive procedures. In addition, the regional market has a great opportunity in getting the market horizon expanded by increasing the number of treatments done for dermatological problems with light therapy. In Europe, the growth of this segment would be substantial as several countries like France, Germany, the UK, and others would show growth in their reception of the light therapy. This would happen mostly due to increasing awareness and spending capacity.
The Asia Pacific region would benefit from the number of people seeking therapy with this to counter their psychological issues. Growth in a number of people having trouble with depression and anxiety can increase the chance for the light therapy market growth. In the Middle East & Africa, the market would suffer from a lack of awareness regarding both dermatological and psychological issues and poor investment capacity.

These companies have their recent moves profiled by MRFR to understand the market movements in a proper way. Recently, the FDA approved Revian Red dual-wavelength LED light therapy (PhotonMD) for the treatment of hair loss, which can boost the market considerably.

Traditional Neon Signs
Neon signage is like sweet candy treats for the eyes. This amazing hand crafted medium has captivated, excited, motioned and promoted everything from cafes, coffee shops, cinemas, car dealerships to the seedy underbellies and back streets of Sydney’s nightlife.
